Orphée
(NI-0609,
X885600-0)
is a closed world, interdicted to both trade and naval traffic. The Convention of Interdiction was agreed by all of the Great Powers in 5575AD in order to protect Orphées intelligent, yet primitive natives. The Orpheides are a herbivorous grazer species who have yet achieved only rudimentary development. It is expected that they can achieve a technological civilization within a few thousand years, given suitable protection from interference.
The Orpheides culture is of great interest to scientists throughout the clusters, and the world has a small human academic community. Occasional ships carrying supplies and researchers call on the system from time to time.
