As the Emergency begins on Earth, your job in the Navy suddenly takes a serious turn. Commerce raiders begin to prey on Earth shipping, and your unit sees action against them on numerous occasions. Your commanding officer is killed, and you are wounded in an engagement at Wolf 359. Once you recover, you find yourself promoted to commander of your fighter wing.
Back home, financial chaos wipes out your savings, and those of those family. Your parents are reduced to living in cheap rented accommodation.

After covering the retreat of the 2051st Frigate Squadron, your fighter wing attempts to commandeer a freighter to carry you to Procyon. Unfortunately, rebel elements catch you in the open, and your unit is cut to pieces. You manage to escape, but almost all of your mates are killed.
Today you are attached to the Free Earth Union Fleet, based in the desolate Farshore region of Procyon. You train young pilots, and wait for the day when you can take back your home, and find your lost parents.
